The object of a company should be to maximise it's value. This would
include different pricing in different markets *if it can get away with
it.* When people stop buying Subarus because the parts are too expensive
they've gone too far.
The object of the government (to the extent that it supports the collective
interests of it's voters) would be to minimise this activity as far as
possible. Subaru won't stop supplying headlights if they are forced to
charge at near the US part price...
