'US government consumer affairs bodies'?  Close to a null set?

And private consumer affairs bodies, i.e. NGOs, get funding to launch 
litigation from where?

And remember that the distribution of wealth and income is hopelessly 
skewed in the US.  So, in practice, most of such funding as NGOs get 
is probably prioritised to address issues that affect the lowest 
socio-economic groups.

Things aren't all *that* great here, but many other countries face 
far worse situations.
