Prof John Quiggin (UQ) will be talking about the economics of the NBN and
alternatives in the 23 Colin Clark Memorial Lecture on 14 November.
Unfortunately, it's a paid event with food aimed at expense accounts, and,
for me, it's in Brisbane.

John has previously written that evaluating the NBN relative to
business-as-usual is difficult since there is a lot of blue sky unknown in
any value estimation but the NBN v the Liberal's copper upgrade is a
no-brainer.  He will post the talk slides on his blog after the event.
