Aircraft systems are very carefully design and tested. The chances of 
taking control with a smart-phone, as the article suggests, are remote.

While it is tempting to speculate over what happened to MH370 (and it 
fills a lot of newspaper columns), I suggest keeping in mind that 
hundreds of people are missing, with thousands of worried relatives.
