The Australian Computer Society (ACS) commissioned a study into carbon
emissions from ICT in 2007, which found them to be about 3% of the
Australian total. A later study confirmed this:

In an attempt to prbyove Charles Dudley Warner wrong*, in 2008 ACS
commissioned a course on how to estimate and reduce ICT energy use. This
has been running since 2009 and is offered online by ANU, ACS in 
Australia and Athabasca University (Canada):

An ANU student is running a small experimental free version of the
course at the moment, using the edX platform:

If that goes well it may be offered more widely next year.
