Because tourists are a lower form of life? Not worthy of the same rights
and freedoms that we would demand for ourselves? Because the wifi will
only ever be used by tourists and never ever ever by any native
Canberrans? Because a pilot of this nature certainly doesn't allow ISPs
to "test on an inconspicuous area" before rolling "solutions" out more
widely?

Seriously TOM - whether this wifi access scheme is needed or not, it
should be executed with the same care and respect for its users as any
other system. If you give censors and wowsers an inch, they take a mile,
then they use it as "precedent" to do it again somewhere else.

"First they came for the tourists' wifi, but I did nothing, for I was
not a tourist..." :-)
