Another Linker has been recognized: Mr Jamie Parker MP, Member of the
NSW Legislative Assembly for Balmain, rose to his feet at 1.20 pm on 14
October 2015 to make a "Tribute to Marghanita da Cruz":

"I bring to the attention of the House a member of my local community,
Marghanita da Cruz. In 1998 Marghanita began an online anecdotal history
of Annandale, bringing to life the rich history of Sydney's inner west
for a global readership. In 2009 Marghanita established the annual
Eco-Annandale exhibition, which she continues to curate and which brings
together work by local photographers, artists and scientists on the
theme of environmental sustainability. Marghanita is an active member of
her local precinct committee and Leichhardt Municipal Council's Heritage

Recognising the community's interest in Annandale's history and
heritage, Marghanita is championing the Annandale Heritage Festival to
complement the Hunter Baillie Memorial Presbyterian Church's National
Trust Fund annual open day. As part of the festival, Marghanita guides
historical walks. Marghanita played a key part in the recent naming of
Douglas Grant Memorial Park. I thank Marghanita for her online and
offline activities that help to strengthen our community.
Congratulations to a stalwart of the local community."
