A few things re NBN/MTM....
#1 The hypocrisy
https://www.crikey.com.au/2016/12/06/nbn-co-hires-a-lot-of-spinners/
NBN spend $20m in 8 months on media advertising Jan/Sept 2016.
"NBN Co now employs 46 staff to manage its communications and marketing.
This
includes six in corporate communications, nine in state corporate affairs,
seven in employee communications, a massive 12 in consumer and social
media,"

"Labor has got to stop spending taxpayers money trying to convince taxpayers
they are spending their money wisely," opposition communications and
broadband
spokesman Malcolm Turnbull said.

#2 The 'can you do that?'
http://www.zdnet.com/article/nbn-warned-switkowski-column-went-beyond-facts-and-showed-favouritism/
"Subsequent to the article's publication, Secretary of the Department of
the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PM&C) Martin Parkinson found that NBN had
breached the caretaker conventions that dictate how government departments
and business are to behave during an election."
...
"Switkowski was reappointed by the Australian government for another three
years as chair of the NBN board in September."
#3 The WTF?
"Since when has FTTN been the technology for new developments? I thought
they
were all supposed to be FTTP?"
"It seems the government charges the developers for the roll out of the
fibre,
whereas Telstra are happy to come in and install the copper for nothing,
knowing
that the nbn will then buy the copper off them and give them a contract for
maintaining it.
So by removing the policy that demanded all new developments get FTTP,
nbn have
in fact removed the absolute cheapest technology from the mix and
allowed Telstra
to generate long term income."
