The problem is that wireless and HFC technologies are both designed to support multiple users contending for the available bandwidth, and the penultimate few metres normally has the lowest bandwidth. Most HFC users are familiar with the decrease in performance around mid-afternoon on schooldays when children begin arriving home.
An exception is NBN wireless (which services some villages around here) where each connected user has a dedicated channel.

Indeed, particularly if a whole household is sharing the WiFi (perhaps with some of the neighbours and passers-by).
