[LINK] Quote ' the internet of dangerous broken things'

Unfortunately this type of problem is not new. About a years ago, with very
minimal effort, I managed to get control of the entire TV setup in a
certain hotel in Asia (one of the major worldwide chains, no less) -
everything from being able to turn on or off TVs in any room, change
channels, remap channels (select CNN and get porn, perhaps?), charge people
for things they didn't watch, or even get a full list of all guests in the
hotel with room numbers.

The scary thing is that a year later, and multiple attempts to notify the
hotel in question to the problem, they still haven't fixed it. Even today
I can still control their entire environment, remotely, from anywhere on
the Internet.

The issue here generally isn't the technology as such - it's the people
that implement it, and their complete lack of understanding of security.
