That quote should never be used without appending one from Orwell
pointing out the ease with which the public can be convinced that an
eternal state of warfare exists, thereby providing permanent cover for
perpetrators of the whole box of tricks comprising alternative facts /
fake news / misinformation / disinformation / lies.
That way lies social madness.
