As/Has

as/has -  has number of meanings in pidgin:
1. refers to the body part(buttock) of animals or human
2. the root of something (kamautim wantaim has/as bilong em - means to say,
"remove it with the root")
3. the aim/objective/reason of/for doing something (eg - wanem as/has bilong
dispela kibung? - means to say, "what is the aim of this meeting?")

"As" and "Has" are used interchangeably but some people tend to use "As"
when referring to the 2nd and the 3rd meaning above while using "Has" to
refer to the 1st.  Eg.  Last night a pastor was preaching at a funeral
gathering and used the following phrase, " Has tru blong man i stap laip em
long givim biknem long God papa" - meaning - "the reason for men being alive
is to give praise to father God".
