What's this phenomenon? After a century of 'as',
'asde' etc, we are now hearing 'has', 'hasde' etc. Why
the new 'h'?
This is quite widespread. I was in downtown Lae last
year when a newsreader on Nau-FM read an item about
the violence in Honiara where a Papua New Guinea had
been killed and his head cut off and taken away by
militants. He clearly said the man's relatives had
appealed for the return of '... et bilong hem'.
Are there are any other distinguished meanings as Eric
suggests for 'as/has' (weren't you suggesting 'has'
for the 3rd meaning, Eric)?
