Pat - Can you clarify. Did the speaker mean "raunim ples rais", i.e. skirts
a swamp, or "brukim ples tais", i.e. goes over/through a swamp?

Note that we have the 1st sense on the web site under "baut, bautim", for
example:

"rot i baut planti" the road is very winding
"em i bautim poin" he rounded the point

Just coming from holidays in the Sepik near the River.

bautim:-- "Yumi no ken go long dispela rot, em i bautim ples tais na em i
longwe tumas."

It is possible that this speaker was making a neologism, but he is not an
English speaker, and was not trying to be funny. The word as I understood it
meant, "go raun long".
