Sorry if I'm getting a little emotional here, but the woman's remark given below is so sad!
Tok Pisin is (or should I say WAS?) such a beautiful language.
The variety I learned and speak is probably old-fashioned by today's standards, but it was full of so many lovely and unique characteristics.
Many indigenous expressions are already being ousted by English.
The quote given by John Hatton tragically reflects some people's attitude to Tok Pisin.
I really wonder what needs to be done to make people aware of what a great language Tok Pisin is, and make the government take measures to standardize it...
