Dear colleagues

As part of the ANU Crawford Leadership Forum Big Picture Series 2020<https://aclf-bigpictureseries.eventbritestudio.com/>, the Pacific Institute and Crawford School of Public Policy have assembled a virtual panel to explore what our shared regional future will look like in a post-COVID world.

The panel will comprise of the Australian Minister for International Development & the Pacific, The Hon. Alex Hawke MP, the Samoan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Natural Resources and Environment, The Hon. Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, and the Fijian Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Civil Service and Communications, The Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum. Key topics of discussion will include:


  *   the TransPacific bubble as a pathway to economic recovery

  *   recognition of the ongoing impacts to the region caused by climate change

  *   longer term and more flexible seasonal worker program opportunities.

Lecturer at the Crawford School of Public Policy in the Resources, Environment and Development team, Dr Siobhan McDonnell and Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, James Batley, will chair the panel discussion.

The virtual panel will take place on Thursday 18 June between 9.30am-10.30am. It will be streamed live via Zoom, and posted on the ANU TV Youtube channel<https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxzvNYT-17mjYJMuDzGx7AA> afterwards.
