Welcome to a new semester, and students and staff returning to campus!

The ANU Library has been back on campus since the end of lockdown in 2021, and we have been working hard to expand both our client services and our collections.

New information service points
This week we are launching our 'Ask a Librarian'<https://anu.libanswers.com/> service which features an online chat function, a query form, a reference consult booking service and a searchable Frequently Asked Questions database.

Our library information desks will be staffed from 9am to 5pm, and we are here to help in person or online.

O-week and beyond
The ANU Library is running a series of branch library tours (in-person) and information sessions (online)<https://anulib.anu.edu.au/news-events/events-exhibitions> in O-Week and Week 1 for new and returning students.  In Menzies our first two library tours are fully subscribed, but we have spaces in both our tours in Week 1. Chifley flood anniversary
In the 25th February, we mark four years since the devastating flood in the Chifley Library.

Since that time, the ANU community have done incredible work to rebuild our collections, buildings and facilities. In addition to physical materials, the Library has replaced many resources in online format, enabling far greater discoverability and accessibility than was possible previously, especially during the restrictions and lockdowns of the past two years. Books, serials, films, microforms, official documents and reference works are now available online for the ANU Community to discover and use.

Included in some replacement packages (especially in collections of primary materials formerly housed in microforms) are vast amounts of new content never before accessible through the ANU Library. Whole databases are now open for study and research, with almost 10 million additional items added to the ANU Library Collections.
