Kia ora,

The ANU Library is hosting a Rare books exhibit for ANU Alumni Day this weeks and the items will remain on display in the McDonald Room on Monday 20th March from 9am to 1pm.

The exhibit will showcase a selection of works from across subject areas dating back to 1480.

It includes a curated collection of early feminist works, snapshots of gendered fiction, 'instructional' works for women, and morality guides for parents from the 18th and 19th century, as well as newspapers/periodicals of the day.
Also included is some of the early Australian, Chinese and European voyage and settlement works, including Cooks voyages and memoirs as well as fictional works from Austen, Byron and Shakespeare.
Some notable titles on exhibit; The Queen Mary Atlas (1555-1557), Biographia Britannica (1778-1793), The Banksias, Aesopus leben und fabeln (Aesops life and fables - 1545), Preparatio Evangelica (1480) and The Birds of Australia (1890-1891).

Come along to the Menzies Library on Monday 20th March before 1pm to delight in the largest, smallest, some of our oldest and rarest books, as well as some wonderful children's material from the Mortlake collection.
