Minutes from committee meeting feb 7 2010 2pm:
1- " adopt a boat" will be the new strategy as boat maintenance was
identified to be too much for one person (ie captain of boats ). We
will take volunteers for one owner per boat. That person will be
notified of problems and attend to the boat.
So far boat owners are:
Chris- race 2 laser
Tony - sharpie
Alex - tbd
Andrew - tbd
Action item: volunteers needed
2- fireball Mia owner: Gary will follow up with Julia regarding next
years storage fee. If she fails to pay we will give a one month grace
period or she needs to vacate the boat. If she fails to do so the boat
will become anusc general use.
Action item: Gary
3- end of season shed cleanup: there is a serious issue with shed
clutter and general disorder. Let's leave the shed in tip top shape
for wintering.
Action item: Chris to set a date and round up volunteers
4- carpet in lounge to be replaced: as we found it almost impossible
to sweep or vacuum Gary and I decided to remove the carpet while we
had manpower this afternoon. It looks bad because of the residual glue
but it is indeed clean. Under the kitchen island I found years of
mould and a million wormlike creatures living off a honey spill. Yum.
Action items: committee to decide on reflooring options , linoleum,
foam grids, paint etc. Depending on budget this is low priority and
purely aesthetic
5 the hobie cat - kayakers are blocked by the old hobie. This needs to
be moved to the front of the shed in order to make the fairway
accessible.
Action item: Jamie to repair mosquito with hobie rudders the move to
the front.
6 junk cleanup- there is a large pile of junk in the front.
Action item: chris will arrange act waste to pick up.
7 windsurf funding - yves b has requested $1000 for purchase of
windsurf gear.
Action item: yves b will followup with committee and treasurer.
8 annual general meeting. This will be held on the evening of the last
sailing course.
