[ANU Sailing Club] Coala Lake Trip (13-14 Feb 2010)

Hi everyone,

As the beginner courses are approaching, we have only one weekend left, when
we can take the boats to the coast before almost a monthly break during
which the boats won't be available because of the lessons.

Thus, I propose to use this possibility and go to Coala Lake this weekend
(the 13-14th of Feb) and enjoy sailing in a steady ocean breeze + Tuross
beaches, which are not that far from the lake. The plan is to head off in
the afternoon on Friday (preferable) or Saturday morning (optional) and stay
at the Batemans Bay Sailing Club's Lake House (which has showers and
electricity), if we get an access, or in Tuross Head Caravan Park.

What are we taking: That will depend on the number of people keen to go and
the number of cars with tow bars, but the initial plan is to take a new
power boat (towed by Glen) and a big three level trailer with one Taser or
Laser II, and two lasers. I also keen to take at least one windsurf board
and a sail but if more experienced windsurfers sign up, we can take more of
them.

What we are going to do: I propose we should find out which day (Saturday or
Sunday) will have better sailing conditions and organise a series of short
social races (that's why we're taking the powerboat for), say, along 10-15
min length course for half a day. All other time will be for free sailing
along or with your friends and white sand Tuross beaches. A traditional trip
BBQ will be made in the Saturday evening.
