G'day everyone,
Bateman's Bay Regatta Success
New club Secretary Andrew Welch has done it again coming second in the small dinghy division of the Batemen's Bay regatta. Andrew now has two seconds from two regatta starts and is to my knowledge the most successful ANU sailor of the last few years. Andrew did an intermediate course with the club early this year. Great going mate!
Australian University Fleet Racing Regatta
The organisers of the Fleet Racing Regatta on Lake Burley Griffin have agreed to run a trainee division with a separate start. This division is specifically intended for sailors who are new to racing ( I particularly wanted to give our newer members an opportunity to participate in our home regatta, we also expect quite a few new sailors from the Sydney Universities.) Let me know if you are intertested in this. Early bird registration closes on 16 April and it would be good to save yourself and the club some money by entering before then.
In brief:
Richard's Blessington is running some mid-week training sessions during the uni break - rblessington at gmail.com
The shed is getting new cisterns, new hooks in the changing rooms and a good clean-up for the event - a working bee will be announced soon.
Volunteers needed to help run the Regatta - safety boats, BBQs, running reapairs etc. contact me if you're interested.
N.B. The regatta is open to alumni.
Cheers for now,
Adam Leavesley
