From time to time, the SCA offers opportunities for researchers from
external organisations to partner with SCA in Collaborative Research Projects.

The program provides the SCA with an opportunity to access and use
leading-edge technology and scientific expertise. In return, it gives
both established and new researchers the chance to work with a
catchment and bulk water management organisation on research topics
of critical relevance, in areas of water quality, water quantity and
catchment management.

The SCA will provide funding for salaries and agreed costs for the
duration of the project to support Research Officers, Post-Doctorial
Fellows, Honours, MSc or PhD studentships, and other research
personnel. Projects may be for up to three years duration. Applicants
are encouraged to form an interdisciplinary project team to best
address the research objectives.

Additional opportunities exist for researchers to partner with the
SCA to attract additional funding from the Commonwealth under the
Australian Research Council Linkage Grant Scheme.

Calls for expressions of interest - 2006 Round 2 - Closing date 15
September 2006

The SCA is calling for expressions of interest from research
organisations to undertake collaborative research in water quality,
water quantity and catchment management. Funding for up to 3 years is

N2. Impact of acid mine drainage from the Yerranderie silver mining
field on water quality and aquatic ecology

N3. Impact of horticultural management practices on water quality.

Detailed descriptions of these projects and assessment criteria are
available for use by research providers to prepare their application,
and will be used to inform selection of the preferred collaborative
research provider.

Potential applicants for the research projects are encouraged to
contact the person listed in the Guidelines in developing their application.

Application Forms must be completed and returned by the closing date.
