Dear SRES people

Thanks to all who helped with Saturday's Open Day, both in the
preparation and on the day.

Particular thanks to:
- Geoff for overall coordination, and Clive, Debbie & Mayumi for
preparation of the new Factsheets (now adopted across CoS) and
Handbooks - on display/ for your collections at SRES reception;
- staff and Honours & undergrad students who staffed our stand and
the Forestry building from 9-4; it was a very effective presence.

CoS Marketing staff will be at SRES for m-tea on Wednesday ahead of a
meeting about marketing our programs, so any feedback to Geoff,
Clive, Debbie or me before then would be helpful. My impression was
that the effort was very effective; Geoff and I both had the
impression that there was a higher level of interest than last year,
and that most inquiries were serious. There was good interest in all
SRES degrees. One glitch that became apparent is that there were no
SRES or EMS staff closely associated with the BGOS degree to answer
queries in Mike Roderick's absence [he could be there for only half
the day].

Thanks to all who helped for representing SRES so well; hopefully the
efforts will be rewarded by increased enrolments in our degrees and
courses, assisting us to meet our undergraduate load targets.

Peter
