MICROSOFT has warned of a new computer virus that exploits a
vulnerability in its PowerPoint presentation software. The vulnerability
applies to PowerPoint 2000, 2002 and 2003.

It's quite a nasty virus, so please take care; if you receive a
PowerPoint file from someone you don't know, *do not* open it; delete
the file immediately. If someone you know sends you a PowerPoint file
that you weren't expecting, *do not* open it; it's very likely it has
been sent to you using a false name.

The vulnerability in Powerpoint will hopefully be patched in the August
round of security updates.
