[Sres-postdocs] Making the Most of Your ARC-LIEF Program Proposals

Hello Colleagues

As previously advertised, the ANU will offer institutional cash
contributions for approved ARC-LIEF applications (and other research
equipment bids with substantial external leverage), without any cap on
the amount.

Some ways that Colleges can capitalise on this opportunity when
preparing funding applications is to keep in mind the following :
*	DVC advises that Central funding support is unlimited =>
	*Put in more bids
	.Go for bigger $ bids
	.Put a case to the DVC for more $ (eg : a big bid, and you can't
quite make the 10% local area contribution)
*	Think carefully about strategic long-term infrastructure
building =>
	*Put in optimal bids : quality equipment, everything that's
required
	.Bigger, "super-duper" equipment, not paring down, and not
padding

DEADLINE :
Please be reminded that ARC-Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and
Facilities (LIEF) applications for 2007 (for Funding commencing in 2008)
are due at the Research Office by 5:00pm Friday 11 May 2007.
