Thanks in advance for your time.

Kind Regards,

Stephanie North.

Dear fellow researchers, health care professionals and colleagues with an
interest in Timor-Leste,

Re: UNSW Timor Leste Health Care Seeking Behaviour Study 2009

The University of New South Wales is pleased to announce the publication
of the Timor-Leste Health Care Seeking Behaviour Study Report, produced in
conjunction with AusAID, Timor-Leste Ministry of Health, The Alola
Foundation and the National Directorate of Statistics in Timor-Leste.

Funded by AusAID, the purpose of the study was to enhance understanding of
factors affecting the use of health services in Timor-Leste, in order to
inform government health policy and strategic planning and development.
The study comprised four main components:
1. Preparation and stakeholder engagement (literature review,
situation analysis, identification of priority domains of inquiry) and
partner identification;
2. Survey and qualitative research (development, implementation,
analysis and report-writing);
3. Dissemination (policy makers and planners understand findings and
implications for policy and strategy); and
4. Capacity building (increasing research-related skills and
experience of local staff).

The English and Tetum versions of the final report in PDF format are
available for download from The University of New South Wales' School of
Public Health and Community Medicine website, at
http://www.sphcm.med.unsw.edu.au/SPHCMWeb.nsf/page/Timor-Leste.

Comments or requests for hard copies of the report are most welcome, and
should be addressed to the Chief Investigators of the study: Professor
Anthony Zwi (a.zwi at unsw.edu.au), or Dr Ilse Blignault (
i.blignault at unsw.edu.au).  A glossary of health-related terms compiled
over the course of the study and translated into English is also available
upon request.

Yours sincerely,

Stephanie North.
On behalf of Professor Anthony Zwi and Dr Ilse Blignault.
The University of New South Wales, Australia.
