Overview:
Publishing is a key part of academic research. But it can also be somewhat mysterious and at times even daunting. In this online session, we will make a start on demystifying the academic publishing process. We’ll cover the following topics: (i) ‘warming up’ to presenting your work to the world; (ii) orienting to the key journals and publication fora in your field; (iii) understanding the audiences to whom you’d like to communicate; (iv) navigating the peer review and production processes; and (v) developing a strategic approach to publishing your research. There will be opportunities for discussion and interaction, with links provided to some relevant online resources. The session will be oriented towards PhD students and those seeking to enter the academic job market, but will also have relevance for postdoctoral scholars.
Ngā mihi nui,
