Melbourne Graduate Forum on Southeast Asia Studies 


The Asia Institute and Department of Political Science of the University of Melbourne invites postgraduate students researching Southeast Asia to attend their session of the Melbourne Graduate Forum on Southeast Asia Studies. This one day workshop will be held at the University of Melbourne on Friday, 28th July.

The one day workshop will provide postgraduate students will an avenue to network and present with others researching Southeast Asia. The day will be organised into four sessions based around common themes. Each session will include a chance for presenters to present their work and receive questions and feedback from the other participants. 

Further to presentations each session will host workshops collaborative research; grant writing and funding; and research skills. There will also be keynote speakers offering insight into research Southeast Asia and the current challenges and debates. 

Postgraduate students working on Southeast Asia who are unable to attend the ARI Singapore Graduate Forum on Southeast Asia Studies as well as others are invited to submit abstracts for the one day graduate workshop held in Melbourne. 

Please submit a 200 word proposal as soon as possible. The abstract should include a brief outline of the issues covered and the central themes and argument to this paper. It should be in an area directly relevant to your own research area. In the abstract (but not included in word count) please include your name, affiliation, contact details (primary email address and another form of contact: postal address or alternative email). Please submit the abstract as a word document attachment. In the email submission please include your name, affiliation and another form of contact.
