House-sitting opportunity in Dili, Timor-Leste


Due to a family emergency, I have had to leave the country, probably until November of this year.

Unfortunately, we have had to put our two dogs in kennels, which is not an ideal solution. Gladys and Beryl are lovely Australian cattle dogs and need to be around people. We are looking for somebody who would house and dog-sit for us at our home in Kampung Baru, in the western part of Dili (near the airport).

The house is spacious (2 bedrooms, a very large living/dining room, an extremely well-equipped kitchen and a garden. The dogs are used to being indoors overnight to snuggle on the couch. To be truthful, the house isn’t in particularly good repair, but it’s comfortable enough. The neighbourhood is an ordinary Timorese kampung. We’ve had no security issues.

We need to find someone as soon as possible, who is prepared to commit to staying at least 4 months. It’s rent-free, electricity is paid for, and there is a housekeeper who comes in to clean 5 days a week.
