There was a case up here about 3 years ago when a motorcyclist in a 
Ulysses Club ride was run off the road between Townsville and Charters 
Towers near the bridge over the Burdekin River about 15 mins out of 
Charters Towers.  A 000 call for an ambulance was placed, and an hour 
later no ambulance had appeared   On checking it was found that the call 
centre, in a remote location, had used a map to find a bridge over the 
Burdekin, found one on the Bruce Highway at Home Hill, over 150 kms 
away, and despatched the ambulance there.
