There are lots(?) of stories like this one. In Victoria they were 
using an outdated map that either showed a street that had been 
closed from going through or something similar. Anyway, the person 
died because the ambulance went the wrong way and couldn't find the 
house. There are some very strange address anomalies, particularly in 
hilly areas.

I saw a demo of the Vic emergency call system at the Royal Show a few 
years ago after the previous debacle. It is very impressive.
