Perhaps linkers could attempt a rating of their homes/lifestyles using BASIX

> Introduced by the NSW Government, BASIX, the Building Sustainability Index, ensures homes are designed to use less potable water and be responsible for fewer greenhouse gas emissions by setting energy and water reduction targets for house and units. BASIX is one of the most robust sustainable planning measures in Australia, delivering equitable and effective water and greenhouse gas reductions across NSW.

There have been grumblings about the increased cost of housing this
imposes on developers which is passed onto consumers. Unfortunately most
people do not do a whole of life costing or environmental impact.

On climate change apparently it has been a very cold winter with good
snowfalls on the west coast of Canada. Meanwhile in Germany, they have
had to truck snow in for ski competitions. There was a little snippet
showing that the best skiing in Germany this year may well be indoors
in the Ruhr valley.
