Overall I haven't found that adwords are costing more with time - but
the quality changes a while back can mean that prices for some people
go up.
Google's Keyword Tool at
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
doesn't indicate any such price, and I've found it is usally fairly
accurate (although I've never worked on that family of keywords)
(Put in the keyword, choose pricing and position from the dropdown and
tell it you are willing to spend way more than any sensible peron would)
Maybe you need to look at your Quality Score? :(
Serices such as googspy.com may also be able to give you some details
