   Who remembers when that part of the organisation which hired staff, and occasionally fired them, was known as "The Staff Department"?  This was followed by the rather more impersonal "Personnel" until it too was overtaken by "Human Resources" when the retrenchments of the 1980's got into full swing.

   I wonder what the next level of depersonalisation will be known as?
