http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/10/23/siddique_trial_sentencing/

UK person charged with promoting terrosism, for putting files in the
"wrong" directory of his laptop and for 2 links from his website.

This is appalling, no matter what the person's motives may have been.

If he is wicked, then there will ultimately be "proper" evidence and if he's
not, then there's no protection for anyone, whether they just do
research or are just plain curious.

I am seriously hoping such draconian ideals are not applied here,
regardless of who sits in the PM's chair.

Terrorism laws are a nice dirty stick with a nail in it, to wave around
at people who are borderline and probably not really a threat at all.

The real trouble makers are well under the radar and not at all
inclined to have things in their possession that might incriminate
them.
