My copy of Firefox for Windows does not recognise Flash.  I am prompted to
load a missing plug-in. That is the case for several file types such as
audio/video (download QuickTime plug-in).

See Tools > Options > Content > Manage.  If you see Shockwave Flash there,
it was added after installation.
