Aside ...
Out of curiosity, I went to the site you mentioned, Stephen:

And searched on Bendigo (merely because I figure I would have a
manageable list of results). That worked well enough, identifying
Telstra and Optus as having base stations on One Tree Hill for example.
But what's odd is that the geolocation provided by the MCF site doesn't
match the location in the ACMA license database.
From MCF:
One Tree Hill Bendigo: 36.80294 S (36 degrees, 48 minutes, 10.534
seconds) , 144.30020 E (144 degrees, 18 minutes, 0.72 seconds) (or
259139 Easting, 5923587 Northing)
From ACMA:
http://web.acma.gov.au/pls/radcom/register_search.main_page
(using search by site, location = bendigo)
The site in the result set which has Telstra is site 11869. Its location
is given as:
GPU PowerNet Site One Tree Hill
36 degrees 48 minutes 16 seconds south; 144-17-55 East (or 259020
Easting, 5923380 Northing).
Sorry to bore everyone ... but the two points are (according to the
distance calculator on Geosciences Australia) about 220 metres apart. If
you were planning radiocommunications sites based on the data, you'd
want one or the other of the databases to be more accurate than 200+
metres ... I wonder which is wrong?
Cheers,
RC
