Oh, and here was I thinking that it was to allow a spectrum auction -- auctions
which were bringing in unbelievable sums when the Digital TV plan was thought of.

BTW, the government has opened up the suggestion box for uses for the analogue
frequencies.  Perhaps the Link Institute could write in and suggest that since
those frequencies had to work so hard for the past 50 years that they be given
a rest now.
