I've just picked up a new ASUS
monitor...the packaging included a
handle which made it easy to carry. But
everything was in a plastic bag and
there were protective plugs on the cables.

Though worst of all it came with three 
cables
(Aus, British and European). This is
fine for a netbook or laptop - as you
may need them when traveling, though the
ASUS eeePC had a cute adapter with two
sets of pins.
