Back in the Jurassic indeed ... in the early 90s there were still
"rooters" in Australia, which would confuse visiting American vendor
reps. When 3Com launched into the rooter/rowter space, its country
manager here (Nick Jackson, wonder what happened to him?) decided to
play with the pronunciation with a series of ads:
We Came. We Saw. We Routed.
The American's loved it, right up until the time they caught up with his
sense of humour and pulled the ads ...
