I doubt that's the real reason, but they'll be happy to let people think
that.  The real reason will be to see what the WikiLeaks staff do with
access to all these servers via those SSH connections.

I'm sure the WikiLeaks staff would have anticipated this and will
probably not do anything other than update the sites at this stage.

Alternatively the CIA could be more interested in tracing the source of
the updates to their honeypot server(s) in order to trace WikiLeaks
staff and infrastructure.

I'm also sure that there will be other honeypots among the mirror sites
run by other agencies, both within the United States and elsewhere.
