I think Bernard just hit on what my Sysadmin problem is.

Much of my job that used to be "Systems Administration" is now run 
by Analysts that see the same thing as IS.  Unfortunately, that applies
to email, web, LDAP and more.  More unfortunate is that these "Analysts"
are not very good at "Systems Administration", so the services get outsourced
or dumbed down....


...still looking for that thing where I get to use both halves of my brane...
