I have no dealings that I know of with the Dept of Resources, Energy and
Tourism, unless they get a copy of the forms we fill out when
leaving/entering the country.
Tonight someone purportedly from ORC International rang after 6 pm and
proceeded to ask my wife dozens of questions about *my* travels - where,
why, who pays for it, etc - and she blithely kept answering them. I told her
that we're on the Do Not Call Register and the voice at the other end said
that government departments are exempt from it. When my wife began to
answer questions about my income, I pulled the phone cord from the wall.
I can see that ORC International exists and seems to conduct surveys on
behalf of impressive companies and governments, but anyone can claim to be
that company. I have sent an email to the address shown on the RET website
My question is about the sanctity of my unlisted number. How would RET get
it and can they use it for a survey?
Ash
