"Don’t let a change become a break"

During the 12 years of Policy Online’s existence it has become apparent
that every change of government brings not only changes in policy but also
changes in department and agency names. Both changes can result in older
government research becoming difficult to find online and a slew of broken
links all over the internet. Policy Online is working to keep all public
policy research available in the public domain and is keen to upload full
text versions of research papers as often as possible. This is a call to
government and all research producers to consider your legacy. Using
creative commons licences will ensure that Policy Online uploads your
content securely. And please think carefully about the implications of
changing urls during website restructuring.
