Oh please...

First of all, Java is not only "a language" it's also a runtime and
software ecosystem.
News: Android runs Java, as a language.

Second, for the earlier vulnerabilities that made routine headlines, it was
because the BROWSER PLUG-IN was configured to run automatically unsigned
applets, before asking the user for permission, so a user loaded a URL and
the browser plug-in loaded the applet.

Newer Java runtime releases since Java 7 u45 no longer run unsigned code
(Microsoft made a similar change to ActiveX a long time ago).
