Reminds me of a classified ad I tried to put in the SMH in the 1970s.

I think I'd written something like 'Flatmate sought for 2-bedroom flat
in Balmain.  A lively female would be good'.

Maybe there was a sub-culture in inner-western Sydney at the time in
which 'lively' was a euphemism for something else;  but for whatever
reason my ad was rejected.

I can't remember what alternative was accepted.  I imagine 'interesting
female' could be misinterpreted just as easily.  (They didn't have any
problem with me using the word 'female', nor with me having a gender
preference).  It remains one of life's many mysteries.

I wonder how many of my expressions would generate 'warnings that my
posting may be see as inappropriate', resulting in my postings being
blocked from reaching a proportion of the target-audience, occasionally
for good reasons, but mostly because of false-positive flagging.
