A mate of mine in PNG (Chris Tep) has written to seeking help for an Adventist Youth Pipe Band in the Western Highlands of PNG. The band lost most of their musical instruments in a fire some time ago and are now struggling.



The group is seeking second hand instruments or (I presume) funds to buy them.



Could you post this on the PI web list to see if anyone can help.



In particular, some members of the web site may have links in the Adventist church in Australia or in musical groups who could help the Baisu Youth Pipe Band.

Hello Mike,

Good morning to you hope this mail finds you in good health.

This is an unusual request but I hope you can assist in some way.

Baisu Seventh Day Adventist Church has a Youth Bag Pipe Band this is the only band of its kind in PNG apart from the military and the police. The band has been playing for the last 20 years however a year ago the band was lost to a tragic fire. Since then they have been struggling to rebuild the band.

I am kindly asking your assistance to locate some second hand or some refurbished staff in Australia which we can buy.

I am also attaching the newspaper article of the fire and a request letter to the CIS Department for assistance.
